A meeting of the Municipal Group of Economic Activists of employees of small and medium business on the results of 2009 and the tasks for 2010 was held in Moscow.
Vadim Kulikov, the Director of the Innovation Center, suggested working out a public-private partnership mechanism to obtain investments to launch new innovation projects.
“For a qualitative leap in the innovation sphere, Russia needs to create public-private seed funds focused on start-up projects. Starting up an innovation company today requires a maximum of 10-20 million rubles. For example, our center is currently implementing 24 projects, and if these funds are available, we will be able to manage more than a hundred projects. It’s important to note that we can bring the proportion of successful projects up to 30%, which is essential for the innovation segment”, Kulikov noted.
As a successful example, he cited the results of one project - the company Ecowave Technologies. Today, this small company offers an innovative product – pressure stabilizers – in EU countries and the U.S.
In turn Yury Luzhkov announced: “Within the framework of these target measures we undertook last year, with the allocation of resources and financing, we need to provide an additional 2 billion rubles for the development of innovations this year. So that we can implement innovation projects in a public-private partnership solution.
